This article will explain the new user signup flow in PIQ. This flow will help provide your clients with a better experience when creating first time bookings.
1. Splitting User Signup Setting
Previously, we had a setting to turn on/off the ability for a new user to signup. This setting applied to both the website and branded mobile app. Now, this setting has been split between the web & app.
For the app, navigate to Admin Portal > Manage > App Settings and scroll down to "Allow New User Sign-up on the mobile app". When toggled on, user's will see the "New User" button when navigating to the branded app (Version 6.4+).
For the website, navigate to Admin Portal > Manage > Site Settings and scroll down to "Allow New User Sign-up on member portal". When toggled on, user's will see the "New User" button when navigating to the member portal and/or trying to book into a class.
2. Automatically Logging in New Users
Whenever a new user was created from the web or app, it would take them to the login page after their account was created. Now, when a new account is created the new user will be automatically logged in! To see this change in the app, please ensure you're on Version 6.4+.
3. Allowing Non-Logged in Users to View Class Details Page
Many brands use the class schedule iFrame to display their class schedule on their website. If a new user clicked on a class it would be taken to the Login page where they could Login or Create Account (if setting is on).
Now, when a new user clicks on a class it will display the class details page! If the new user clicks on a spot, for spot booking, or "Book Now", a pop-up will appear asking them to Login or Create Account (if setting on).
If they enter valid login information, it will log them in and try to book them into the class.
If they have the new user signup option and select "New User", it will take them to the New User Signup page. Once the new account is created, they will automatically get logged in > be re-direct them back to the class details page > and the system will try to book the user into the class!
