This article walks through how to configure and use the member check-in functionality within the PIQ web portal. This allows members to check themselves in directly from their online account ahead of a class.
Before You Begin
- The check-in button will not display for virtual classes. For virtual classes, a check-in is automatically registered when the member clicks Join Class.
- The check-in button becomes available 15 minutes before the scheduled class start time.
Step 1: Enable Member Check-In
Navigate to Admin Portal > Manage > Site Settings and enable Allow members to check themselves in from the web.
Once enabled, the check-in button will appear on the member's schedule 15 minutes before their class start time.

Step 2: Completing a Check-In
Members can complete their check-in from their dashboard by following these steps:
- Navigate to Dashboard > My Schedule.
- When the class is within 15 minutes of its start time, a blue Check In button will appear next to the booking.
- Click Check In to register the check-in in the system.

A pop-up will appear where the member can:
- Change their spot — Click Change Spot in the bottom right corner of the pop-up, select a new spot, and save.

- Set leaderboard visibility — Choose whether or not they want to appear on the class leaderboard.
Once check-in is complete, the booking will display as Checked In on their schedule.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why isn't the check-in button showing for a member's class?
A: There are two common reasons. First, the class may be within virtual class — virtual classes do not display a check-in button. Second, the button only appears 15 minutes before the class start time, so if the member is checking too early it will not yet be visible.
Q: How does check-in work for virtual classes?
A: For virtual classes, a check-in is automatically registered when the member clicks Join Class. No manual check-in is required.
Q: Can a member change their spot after checking in?
A: Yes. During the check-in pop-up, members can click Change Spot in the bottom right corner to select a different spot before finalizing their check-in.
Q: What does the leaderboard visibility setting do?
A: This setting allows the member to choose whether their name and stats appear on the class leaderboard during the session. Members can update this preference each time they check in.
